Give and Take Part I

20140423-230753.jpg

This is a poem written by a very wise and loving friend of mine Ameeta.
I hope you are as touched by this piece of writing as I am.
Much Love and Light!

1. If you would like to be taken off my mailing list please let me know and your wish shall be my command with immediate effect.
2. As you will see this poem raises a question but does not discuss answers, only inviting you to contemplate the question, if you so choose, and to
travel your own journey with it.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Here’s a powerful question
that transformed
my life
ever since
it began
asking itself
inside me

Would you like
to be
on the receiving end
of what you give?

Not a new question
but still radical
always relevant
and profoundly revealing

Too simple for you?
look again
perhaps you might
tap its potential
this time

Would you like
to be
on the receiving end
of what you give?

Would you like
to be
on the receiving end
of how you give
how much you give
when you give
why you give
and to whom you give?

This question inside
has been relentless
not permitting me
to rest on
a single rosy instance
when my answer
might be yes

For it is not interested
in yes
It is more concerned
with no
when the truth is no
even if
we find one no
for a hundred yesses

When this question
falls on fertile ground
it is seen to be
completely non-judgmental
driven by love
love of truth and freedom

For we are never
more empowered
or empowering
than when we are
in truth

So thanks to a courage
from grace beyond
when we can be honest enough
to come upon that no
and explore it
without fear
and with curiosity
the question opens us
to depths
unimaginable

What we see
with eyes thus opened
humbles us
and brings us to our knees

And yet the question
may stay
and keep asking itself
till mind opens
and heart explodes
and time and space
collapse
so that giving
is not other than receiving
and giver
is not other than receiver

And still the question
may stay
as a loving reminder
of our truth
transforming us
inside and out
one instance at a time.

Control

I watch people give away their personal power all too often. Allowing others to provoke them into reactive emotions such as, anger, sadness, self pity, and jealousy. This is giving that person your power. They incite feelings within you, taking control of your emotional state. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about yourself. No matter who that person is to you. Remember your worth and that you are always loved, especially when it doesn’t always feel that way.

Much Love!

Counting Stars

by One Republic

Written by Ryan Tedder, the band’s frontman and songwriter for other pop stars, he was quoted as saying “I felt a responsibility to actually write and sing about things that have a level of human gravity to them” when it comes to the song’s lyrics.

Lately, I’ve been, I’ve been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I’ve been, I’ve been praying hard,
Said, no more counting dollars
We’ll be counting stars, yeah we’ll be counting stars

I really love this song! What spoke to me the most were the lyrics. This is a song I can get down to and actually feel inspired by. Do not get me wrong, I also can get down (well more like grind on a “surfboard”) to Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love” but all that inspires me to do is get drunk and do naughty things (naughty things aren’t always a bad thing just saying).

The chorus really got to me, I have also been dreaming of more. Dreaming of what more I can contribute to this world. I want to share this gift of illumination with all who want it. Praying to find a way to ignite the spark or to fan the flame to become brighter, in others. I took some time off from this blog because I began to manifest my dream, by teaching others that they too have been gifted. We all have that light that shines inside of us! Wasting time on such mundane a thing as money while there are wonders of the world to be discovered. No, thanks. I will continue to provide the necessary amount of attention to have a comfortable living environment, but no longer will I measure my success by the amount of wealth I have accumulated over my lifetime.

I feel something so right
Doing the wrong thing
I feel something so wrong
Doing the right thing
I could lie, couldn’t I, could lie
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive
This section of the second verse is brilliant! The lies we tell ourselves when we make choices that cause damage to our mind, body and/or soul, may be true in the moment. Given time the truth of the action/inaction will be revealed. I have tested this over and over, the lies I have told myself still turn out to be just that lies…
What lies are you telling yourself?
Just some food for thought,
Much Love,
Kim
